I have been using Integrative Therapy for the last 19 years. At it's base I do lean heavily on the concepts and techniques found within CBT. I also provided trauma informed care with focus as a first responder treatment provider. CBT treatment method challenges reoccurring thoughts and manages emotions these thoughts provoke within us. In conjunction with CBT, I typically borrow techniques from Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, as well as Couples Counseling, depending on your individual needs. The outcome goal is to provide my clients with knowledge regarding connections between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors; as well as, provide them with effective coping skills to move through difficult life moments with reduced negative emotions, stress and anxiety. Trauma comes in many different forms and from a multitude of different experiences. It could be a build up of small yet significant moments over time. Difficult and toxic interpersonal relationships, tragic accidents, as well as working in high stress jobs. Professionally I have been doing trauma work for the last 16 years on a crisis based scale. Over the last year and a half I have been able to work more extensively and in depth with those who have experienced trauma. I have a focus on working with military, first responders, as well as those who work in emergency departments or medical field. We will sit and discuss what struggles you face the most. What triggers are the most troublesome and build a plan using techniques that aid in the reduction of anxiety, better sleep, and all around better quality of life. The majority of people will experience a mood disorder of some type, at some point within their lifetime. Sometimes these can develop due to overwhelming life stressors and a difficulty in managing and adjusting to these stressors. My focus for dealing with such disorders is based in CBT and Mindfulness. Through the use of techniques from both forms of therapy, we will work together to build coping skills, identify maladaptive thought patterns, and create new positive coping skills to reduce negative emotions, bringing a sense of peace and joy into your life.
