Are you or your child feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges or trying to navigate past trauma? I’m Abigail Smithson, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate at Anchor Ridge Counseling. I am passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. I believe that when people feel fully known, they can safely navigate their challenges and work toward healing. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I would love to meet you where you are so that we can work together to move you to where you want to be in life. It has always been my dream to provide counseling in Broken Arrow and Tulsa for women and children who have experienced trauma, helping them build skills, confidence, and a path toward healing. I work with women, children, families, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth. My Therapeutic Focus: Trauma & Healing: Working with women and children who have experienced trauma or child abuse to build confidence, coping tools, and emotional safety. Individual Growth & Wellness: Helping clients process anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and life transitions. Relational Health & Couples: Assisting couples and families looking to improve communication, resolve ongoing conflict, and restore healthy boundaries. My Approach & Expertise: I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Oral Roberts University. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based approaches and tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, including: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Practical strategies designed to help children, youth, and adults heal from traumatic experiences. Client-Centered Therapy: A compassionate, collaborative approach focused on helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and build practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Beyond the Office: Outside of counseling, you can usually find me with a good book, out in the garden, or hanging out with my husband and my dogs. I believe that finding moments of connection, joy, and balance in everyday life is an important part of our overall well-being. My goal is to help you develop practical tools for lasting growth and healing. Reach out today to schedule your intake.
