I am a Mexican American, English/Spanish bilingual, and bicultural Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My experience includes working with undocumented immigrants; individuals, couples, families, children and youth; substance abuse/recovery; HIV/AIDS issues; and queer issues (such as coming out, same sex couples, and acceptance). I have over 20 years experience in social services, and 10 years experience working with individuals, couples, and families in the non-profit sector. I hold a Bachelor's of Arts in Social Work from San Francisco State University (2011) and a Master's of Art in Counseling from Saint Mary's College of California (2015). My master's degree project was titled, Expressive Art Therapy for Survivors of Domestic Violence. I continue to work in both Contra Costa County's mental health services and community-based organizations as a certified bilingual clinician.
