Welcome to My Practice! As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults navigating life's challenges. I provide a warm, collaborative space (as well as dry humor and the occasional "rabbit hole" about non-related subjects) to address anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and attachment difficulties. By combining compassionate care, with advanced, evidence-based frameworks, I help my clients build resilience, develop self-regulation, and achieve lasting growth. Please complete my online treatment request form if you are interested in treatment:https://hushforms.com/adamdfriedman860 It contains current information on my waitlists and insurance plans. I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in 2004 and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northeastern University in 1997. I have been involved in numerous counseling-related experiences since 1993 starting off as a volunteer phone counselor for the Parental Stress Hotline located directly next to the iconic Citgo neon sign near Fenway Park in Boston. I have experience in various treatment settings including community, school, home-based, and crisis. I started my private practice in 2007. Here are the specialized, state-of-the-art approaches I integrate into our work together. *Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): A values-driven approach focused on building psychological flexibility (founded by Steven C. Hayes, Ph.D.). *Attachment-Focused Family Therapy: Using the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) parenting model developed by Daniel A. Hughes, Ph.D. to strengthen family connections especially for those with attachment challenges. *Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP): A highly effective, targeted framework for managing OCD and severe anxiety. *Interpersonal Neurobiology & Regulation: Grounded in Polyvagal Theory (Stephen Porges, Ph.D.) and Regulation Theory (Allan N. Schore, Ph.D.) to help clients understand and soothe their nervous system. *Executive Functioning & Self-Regulation Training: Practical skill-building based on the renowned research of Russell A. Barkley, Ph.D and others. *Trauma Processing: A gentle, holistic blend of Trauma-Informed ACT, Exposure & Response Prevention, and the Interpersonal Neurobiology & Regulation framework.
