Introduction

Adel Bernova, Clinical Intern (She/Her) "Empathetic, reflective, and creative." Hi, I’m Adel. I have always been naturally drawn to supporting people through their most difficult moments. Navigating life’s hurdles can feel incredibly overwhelming, and my greatest passion is ensuring you don't have to do it alone. I pursued a career in counseling to combine my deep fascination with human behavior with my desire to help others heal. My ultimate goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel genuinely heard, validated, and empowered. What if the heavy mental loop you’re stuck in is just a roadblock, not your final destination? I guide pre-teens (10+), teens, and adults who are exhausted by the crushing weight of anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, or messy life transitions. My clients usually arrive feeling depleted, unheard, or trapped by daily hurdles. I provide a fiercely validating, judgment-free space for you to finally catch your breath. Blending practical CBT with a deeply person-centered approach, we will untangle those rigid thought patterns, honor your unique story, and build the real-world tools you need to confidently write your next chapter. 🌿 My Therapeutic Approach I believe that therapy is a collaborative process—you are the expert on your own life, and I am here to help you navigate the roadblocks. My approach is warm, creative, and tailored specifically to you. I primarily blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, which means we will work together to understand how your thoughts impact your feelings, while ensuring you always remain in the driver's seat of your healing journey. I am also actively integrating trauma-informed approaches into my clinical work to ensure we honor your past while building your future. I provide focused, one-on-one support for individuals ages 10 and up, including pre-teens, teenagers, and adults. I love helping my clients navigate: Anxiety & Depression ADHD & Neurodivergence OCD & Related Disorders Relationship Challenges Major Life Transitions (school, career, family changes) 🌍 My Background & Perspective I was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, and moved to the United States at a young age. Growing up with a multicultural background has profoundly shaped how I see the world and the therapy room. This lived experience has given me a deep appreciation for the unique intricacies of every individual’s story. I approach every client with cultural humility, openness, and a deep respect for your personal background. (I am also proficient in both English and Russian!) 🪴 Outside the Office When I’m not supporting clients or reading up on new clinical tools, I love bringing my creative energy into my daily life. You can usually find me staying active at the gym or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Because I have Celiac disease, I am also on a fun, never-ending personal mission to discover the absolute best gluten-free restaurants in the area! 📋 Quick Facts Ages: Pre-Teens (10+), Teens, and Adults Services: Individual Therapy Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, OCD, Life Transitions Languages: English, Russian (Proficient)
