Introduction

English: About Dr. Aileen Torres I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children, adults, and families facing trauma, emotional distress, and major life transitions. For more than 15 years, a central focus of my work has been conducting immigration-related psychological evaluations, supporting individuals and families navigating complex legal processes that carry significant emotional and psychological weight. My clinical work is grounded in the understanding that distress does not occur in isolation—it is shaped by relationships, personal history, cultural context, and systems of power and authority. Many of the individuals I work with are living under prolonged uncertainty related to immigration status, family separation, or legal vulnerability, and may experience persistent fear, guilt, shame, or a sense of moral conflict. I specialize in helping people make sense of these experiences in a way that restores dignity, clarity, and emotional stability. In therapy and evaluation work, I offer a thoughtful and compassionate space where clients feel seen and respected. I attend not only to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or trauma reactions, but also to the deeper emotional patterns that can emerge when people have endured abuse, displacement, or long-term stress. My approach is collaborative and careful, with attention to both immediate emotional needs and longer-term healing. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and provide culturally responsive services that honor each client’s background, values, and lived experience. Whether I am conducting an immigration-related evaluation or providing psychotherapy, my goal is to offer ethical, trauma-informed, and clinically sound care that recognizes the full complexity of each person’s story.
