Introduction

Welcome to Reframe Counseling, LLC located in Boulder County, Colorado! Hello, my name is Ainsley Nuhn, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado. I love supporting clients in building new frames that best fit the picture of their lives. My experience includes providing Coloradans mental health support for over 25 years. I have had the opportunity to work with clients at the University of Colorado, the Boulder Valley School District, Mental Health Partners of Boulder County and Children's Hospital Colorado. Currently I work solely in private practice as well as provide support to those served by organizations like Extreme Weather Survivors and Jewish Family Services. Issues I help with include: -Trauma, PTSD and post-traumatic growth -Anxiety, grief, and major life transitions -Family and partner relationship challenges -ADHD, OCD, Neurodivergence -Academic and Work stress -Post-Disaster recovery -Mid-life challenges such as working, raising kids, going back to school and navigating relationships. -Young and teens transitioning into adulthood My Philosophy: This practice is founded on the principle that just about everything we experience in our minds and bodies is driven and impacted by the nervous system. The nervous system serves as the "frame" through which we experience all of life. The picture within the frame is often dependent on how the frame shapes and supports it. Stress, childhood adversity, trauma and anxiety can have a profound effect on the sturdiness and resiliency of the frame that is the nervous system. The condition of our frame determines how we experience ourselves, others and the world around us. Meaning we may have found ourselves shifting from a primary state of calm, cool and collected to feeling overwhelmed, fragmented or shut down. Consider if you resonate with these common nervous system disregulators: * Feeling stuck in jobs, behaviors and/or relationships that leave you drained, unfulfilled, and unhappy. *Struggling with behaviors that are not aligned with your true values, leading to inner conflict. Doing something you know you "shouldn't", or the opposite, not doing what you think you "should". *Feeling frustrated and stressed about things out of your control. *Questioning how you got to where you are in life. *Experiencing significantly uncomfortable emotional states; alternating between feeling agitated and restless to feeling low and unable to motivate yourself, and not being able to pinpoint why. * Feeling trapped in repetitive thought patterns resulting in emotions you wish to escape. * Problems with focus, distractibility, prioritization, impulsivity, and time management What You Can Expect: In our sessions, you will gain a deeper understanding of your life's unique frame, i.e. your nervous system. We will investigate how life experiences have impacted the shape of your frame and impacted the picture of you within. Exploring areas that feel warped, blurred, hidden or stuck and repair them. We will get to know and befriend all parts within the framework of you, learning what is needed, what might have been missed and grieving what was lost. We will learn what best works for you to heal and re-regulate your nervous system; in essence reshaping the frame to best fit the picture of your life. Therapeutic approaches I integrate into our work together include: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Brainspotting Internal Family Systems (IFS) Somatic Awareness. Mindfulness Attachment Theory Compassion-Focused Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) I integrate these modalities and tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of you while promoting healing and personal growth in a supportive environment. Let’s Connect!: If you’re ready for a Reframe, take the first step and please reach out. Together we will create a resilient, adaptive and supportive frame that will securely support the vibrant picture of your life. I am here to support you every step of the way.
