Introduction

At Al-Kindi Counseling Services, Inc., we believe mental wellness is achieved when all aspects of human experience are in harmony. Inspired by the legacy of Al-Kindi, a pioneering philosopher and physician of the 9th century, our approach honors the interplay of reason, spirituality, and culture in your healing journey. The HIKMA© (Wisdom) Method integrates four core domains of wellness: Spiritual, Social, Psychological, and Physical. Our evidence-based care combines psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and trauma-informed tools tailored to your individual story. Why work with us: team-based care from supervised clinical residents and licensed clinicians; culturally responsive care honoring diverse backgrounds, LGBTQ+ identities, and life transitions; in-person therapy in Arlington or secure telehealth across Massachusetts; and in-network coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Aetna, Cigna, MassGeneral Brigham Health Plan, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare, plus private-pay and superbill options. Support groups (8 sessions): Severance: Reclaiming Your Life (virtual), Music-Guided Mindfulness (in person), Grief & Healing Circle (virtual, adults), and Young Hearts Healing Circle (in person, teens who have lost a parent). Learn more about our team, groups, and the HIKMA© Method at www.al-kindi.com.
