Hi, I’m Alaina Behan, an LPC-Associate who specializes in working with children as young as 3. I believe children communicate, process experiences, and work through challenges differently than adults, which is why I use developmentally appropriate approaches that meet children where they are. My work is grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy, along with art-based and other expressive therapeutic activities. Through play and creative expression, I provide children with a supportive space to explore emotions, build confidence, strengthen coping and self-regulation skills, and work through challenges they may be experiencing at home, at school, or in relationships. I support children experiencing anxiety, big emotions, behavioral challenges, ADHD and neurodivergence, difficulty with transitions, family changes, school concerns, self-esteem challenges, and peer or sibling difficulties. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers to better understand their child’s needs and support progress outside of the therapy room. My goal is to create a warm, accepting environment where children feel safe to be themselves and develop the skills they need to thrive.
