Hey there, I'm Alaina, fellow fallible human being. I am a Clinical Social Worker with 18+ years of experience in the mental health field, and 10 years as a clinician. In that time, I gained knowledge in child and family welfare, postpartum and parenting, chronic illness, agoraphobia and anxiety of all kinds and flavors, end of life, anger/irritability, life transitions, LGBTQ+, incarceration and re-entry, employee assistance, trauma treatment, crisis intervention, grief, and more. I practice from a human-to-human approach, meeting each client where they are. I readily use humor as a tool, and you will never meet judgement in me. I will be honest about the work you will encounter, and the barriers you may face. I primarily use a combination CBT/DBT approach but will absolutely sprinkle in pieces from other areas when needed. You will meet less lecture, and more conversation, brainstorming, and processing here. I prefer to teach skills in the moment, finding value in being able to both model and coach a client through it as it happens. If you are open to it, you will leave here with a different perspective. If you put in the work, you will leave here with so much more.
