Finding the right person for your child can feel like a big decision. You want someone they’ll actually talk to, someone who will understand what they’re trying to communicate—even when they don’t quite have the words for it yet. I’m Aleesha, and I work with children, teens, and the grown-ups who love them. I’m drawn to the parts of childhood that can be easy to misunderstand—the big reactions, the worry that comes out sideways, the child who holds everything together all day and falls apart at home, or the kid who simply seems to be having a harder time than they used to. Kids who come into my office will find toys, sand, art, movement, humor, conversation, and plenty of room to be themselves. Parents will find a place where we can be curious together about what their child needs and what might help. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes knowing that something feels hard is enough of a place to start.
