Hi, I'm Alefia. I believe many of the struggles we face aren't caused by a lack of love or good intentions. More often, they're shaped by experiences we haven't fully processed, emotions we don't yet have words for, and patterns that quietly repeat themselves in our relationships. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years as a creative copywriter, helping people find the right words to express complex ideas. Today, I use that same curiosity to help clients make sense of experiences that feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to name. Sometimes healing begins when we finally understand the story we've been living. EMDR is the foundation of my work. Whether you're living with anxiety, trauma, panic, or the lingering effects of painful experiences, EMDR helps your brain process what has remained emotionally unfinished so those experiences no longer shape your present. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, and trauma. Many of my clients appear capable on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. As someone who grew up in India and now lives in the U.S., I'm especially attuned to the experience of living between cultures. I offer therapy in English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, and Gujarati, allowing clients to express themselves in the language that feels most natural. Sometimes the words that carry the most meaning don't translate easily, and being able to move between languages can create a deeper sense of understanding and connection. My goal isn't simply to help you feel better. It's to help you understand yourself differently. Because when the way you see yourself changes, the way you experience your relationships and your life begins to change too. You don't need the perfect words to begin. We'll find them together.
