Introduction

Hello and welcome! My name is Alejandra Martinez-Cardoso, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) authorized to provide therapy services in the State of Washington. My mission and vision is empowering individuals to overcome obstacles, embrace transformation, and thrive as their best selves. My philosophy is to create a warm and supportive environment where you feel safe, understood, and free to share your experiences without judgment as you begin your healing journey. I am committed to building a strong therapeutic relationship, being fully present as you share your story, and working collaboratively with you as a team. I have many years of extensive experience working with diverse individuals of all ages, from children, youth, adults, seniors, and families, across a variety of settings. My work for the past 9 years has involved serving minority groups, students, survivors of trauma and victimization, incarcerated individuals, and those experiencing homelessness and mental health conditions. I have provided therapeutic support to individuals managing anxiety, depression, trauma, child behavioral issues, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, grief, suicidal ideation, and life stressors. In addition to direct therapy, I have a strong background in connecting individuals and families with community resources to meet their unique needs. I help individuals navigate transitions, build and enhance healthy relationships, strengthen self-worth, and process trauma. I'm limited in the number of clients I accept and offer telehealth and in-person sessions. I currently accept private pay only. As an out-of-network provider, I can provide a superbill detailing the services provided, which can be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement if the plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through CBT, I’ll educate you and help you build skills to manage your symptoms effectively. We’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to deepen self-understanding, challenge negative patterns, and foster healthier relationships. Your initial visit will include a 90-minute intake assessment, during which we will evaluate your needs and establish a plan for your therapy treatment. I look forward to meeting you and working together on your journey!
