Introduction

Hello! I am glad you have found your way here. I am Alex, and I am a somatic therapist (SEP) and a Marriage and Family psychotherapist. I enjoy working with a trauma-informed approach alongside the family system, whether that plays out in in individual therapy, or in couples or family therapy. I am passionate about helping my clients find the human spirit of resiliency within themselves, and that no matter where he, she, or they find themselves in life, there is always hope on the other side. Sometimes we just need another person walking with us.   I approach therapy with a laid-back yet honest posture, and I love to incorporate parts work (Internal Family Systems) and body-based/nervous system regulating interventions that bring awareness to what our bodies are trying to tell us about our thoughts and emotions. I find myself drawn to working at this intersection of the mind-body connection and applying this with trauma-informed parts work to help clients suffering with complex trauma, including sexual trauma and emotional abuse, as well as divorce, LGBTQIA+ issues, gender identity, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, self-harm, and relational problems. I currently work with adolescents (12+), young adults, couples, and families. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a Level 1 Trained IFS therapist, and trained as a Hatha yoga instructor to be able to better implement practices of mindfulness and embodiment with my clients.
