Introduction

Alexandra brings her extensive training in several forms of evidence-based treatments to each person she works with. She develops and delivers personalized and flexible treatment plans to maximize success. After graduating from McGill University, Alex spent three years helping to build and grow a child-focused tech startup and later a new division of a large media company. Her success in the business world helped define her interests in entrepreneurship and innovation that have carried on to this day. Following receiving her doctorate from St. John’s University, Alex received solid evidence-based training in cutting edge psychological treatments for young people. She worked primarily at the Child Mind Institute (CMI) as both a trainee and clinical attending. While at CMI, she helped build a pediatric intensive OCD program, a skills-based summer program for college bound young adults, and built a now well-established RO DBT program. Alex is skilled in the treatment of anxiety, mood (including depression), and personality disorders, as well as OCD and related disorders, eating disorders, and co-occurring ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. Alex frequently pursues opportunities to de-stigmatize mental health in the media utilizing her expertise on the impact of social media and technology on the developing brain. She has collaborated with outlets such as CNN, The Wall Street Journal, NBC, Common Sense Media, and the Born This Way Foundation to provide information on mental health to the masses. In February of 2021, Alex started her own practice to be able to allocate her time and resources to her patients first and foremost, and help them achieve their goals. She is currently licensed in New York, Washington D.C., and Maryland where she brings her extensive training to each person she works with, developing personalized and flexible treatment plans to maximize success. She leads with kindness and invests time in the therapeutic relationship to build genuine trust and clarity.
