Hello, my name is Alexus Shabazz, and I have been working in the mental health field since 2022. My journey began working with children in the school system, where I developed a passion for helping young people understand and navigate their emotions. Over time, I transitioned into community-based services and later therapy because I wanted the opportunity to support individuals on a more personal, one-on-one level. I enjoy working with both children and adults and appreciate the unique experiences, challenges, and growth that each client brings. My areas of experience include grief and loss, young adult mental health, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma, domestic violence, loneliness, and LGBTQ+ related concerns. I am passionate about helping clients build healthy coping skills, increase self-awareness, and develop lasting strategies that support long-term emotional wellness. Through my own life experiences, opportunities, and adversities, I have gained a deep understanding of resilience and personal growth. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to make meaningful changes that extend far beyond our time together.
