I am a Board certified clinical social worker with over 40 years of experience in helping people navigate the therapy process. Seeking help takes courage, but the benefit of getting therapy is immense and can be life changing and life affirming. Most of my career I have helped people suffering from chronic medical illnesses and the anxiety, depression, and medical trauma (PTSD), they can face. I am comfortable with all medical diagnoses, but specialize with helping patients who struggle with, POTS, EDS, CRPS, Chronic Pain, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, and autism spectrum disorder. I also have treated ADHD, ODD, and sexual and physical trauma. I work to demystify the therapy process. Everyone has the tools to get better; they just have to learn when and how to use them. I use humor and motivational interviewing to help the client feel comfortable. I am very empathetic and work to make each client feel heard, appreciated, and safe. Deciding on therapy and getting to your first appointment is more than half the battle to getting and feeling better. I work to explain the therapy process. I strive to be an active listener as you describe what brought you into therapy. I work to make you feel comfortable and look at goals you would like to achieve.
