Introduction

Welcome – I’m glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage, and I want to honor you for it. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, reaching out is not easy – but it is a powerful beginning. What can you expect in therapy? My desire is to create a safe, judgment-free zone for you to show up just as you are. I am a trauma-informed therapist whose approach is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when we feel seen, heard, and supported. I want to offer grace for where you are and instill hope for your future. You do not have to do this alone. You have already taken the first brave step – let’s take the next ones together. Why can you trust me? I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Jackson, MS. I have been practicing since 2023 and worked with a variety of clients and problems. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. I offer EMDR therapy and am TF-CBT trained. Further, I am working on my Complex Trauma Certification. I am a Gottman Level 2 trained therapist, which is a method of marital therapy created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman; and trained in Prepare Enrich (a premarital and marital therapy to help couples build strong marriages and reduce the divorce rate). I love to integrate Christian theology into therapy as the client desires. My approach is very client oriented. What works for one may not work for another. Together we can find the approach that will work for you! My experience and education have prepared me to work on several issues, including: • Anxiety • Depression • Grief and Loss • Life adjustments, Transitions, Stress • Marital and Premarital Counseling • Personal Growth • Trauma & Complex Trauma About Me Alleen has been married to Hermes Tomás since 2012. She is an avid traveler who has visited almost 30 countries and counting. Alleen is a lifelong Mississippian (but for a short 12-year break when she lived in Peru) and an avid Ole Miss fan. She enjoys reading, the NYT crossword, and playing with her golden retriever, Qori.
