To get the most out of therapy, it is important to find a professional that is skilled in creating a safe, affirming environment - especially for those that aren't able to feel that safety in other areas of their lives. I see people of all intersecting identities with a range of socioemotional issues to find their way in life. My approach is collaborative with an emphasis on building accepting, empathic, connected relationships with clients as an invaluable part of the therapeutic process. I see myself as a guide to promote healing, uncover deep personal truths and help people evolve towards a more stability and fulfillment. Some of the ways I work with clients is to become aware of links between past and present, explore identities freely with attention to each person's unique circumstances, identify needs around interpersonal connection and boundaries, understand the impact of oppression and intergenerational trauma, and foster hope for the future. Particularly in these upending times, I seek to provide a reliable healing space by helping clients find genuine, compassionate connection with oneself and others. Therapy needs to be a safe space to be messy and broken, but can also be used for playful curiosity and creativity.
