Hello, I’m Dr. Allison Christina Gainer, Ed.D., LAC, NCC, and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe seeking therapy is one of the strongest investments you can make in yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, chronic illness, ADHD, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you do not have to face it alone. My journey into counseling began with a passion for helping others recognize their strengths and create meaningful, lasting change. Over the years, I have worked in higher education, career counseling, student support, disability advocacy, and mental health. These experiences, combined with my clinical training, have shaped a compassionate, collaborative approach that meets clients where they are. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, neurodivergence, chronic illness, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, stress, and relationship difficulties. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals with disabilities, caregivers, students, professionals experiencing burnout, and those navigating questions of identity, purpose, and personal growth. My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, and evidence-informed. I integrate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic approaches, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and together we will identify what works best for you. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported, a place where you can explore challenges without judgment while building practical skills, greater self-awareness, and confidence. Therapy is not about having all the answers; it is about helping you discover the resilience and strengths you already possess. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward creating a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling, and authentically yours.
