Introduction

Hi, I’m Allison! (she/her) My approach is grounded in attachment-focused and trauma-informed care. I support clients navigating attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, parenting stress, birth and medical trauma, self-worth struggles, and major life transitions using therapies designed to help the nervous system process and release painful experiences while strengthening a sense of safety, connection, and confidence. I often begin with Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), an attachment-based ego state approach that is similar to reparenting and inner child work. It helps clients connect with younger parts of themselves, understand unmet emotional needs from earlier experiences, and develop an internal sense of nurturing, protection, and support that can ease long-standing emotional patterns and relational struggles. I am also certified in EMDR and Progressive Counting, both of which support trauma reprocessing and help reduce the emotional intensity of memories and experiences that continue to feel “stuck.” These approaches allow clients to process difficult experiences in a structured and contained way, often leading to greater relief, clarity, and emotional freedom over time. For clients seeking gentler, body-centered approaches, I incorporate Deep Brain Reorienting and Flash Technique to support trauma processing without needing to relive painful experiences in overwhelming detail. I also integrate Sandtray Therapy and Play Therapy techniques to encourage creativity, emotional expression, and deeper self-understanding across all ages. My goal is to tailor therapy to your unique needs and pace, helping you reconnect with your strengths and move toward the life and relationships you want most. I began my career working in intensive in-home therapy, supporting children and families navigating high levels of stress, trauma, and emotional needs within their daily environments. Early in my career, I also worked in play therapy and integrated care settings, which deepened my understanding of how emotional, relational, and physical health are all connected. Those experiences shaped the way I approach therapy today, with flexibility, creativity, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s story and resilience. I have been practicing since 2015 and work with clients across the lifespan. Clients often describe me as friendly, calming, open-minded, and approachable. I value authenticity in the therapy relationship and welcome your feedback, questions, and honest feelings as they arise. One of my favorite “rules” in therapy is that we both get to ask questions and both get to decide what we share. Therapy works best when it feels human and collaborative. Outside of work, I’m a parent to two children and enjoy spending time hiking, listening to live music, and working with my hands on creative and home projects. I grew up in the Denver area, explored life in Vermont for a few years, and ultimately found my way back to Colorado to raise my family. I currently offer in-person and telehealth sessions in Colorado, as well as telehealth appointments for residents of Vermont, Massachusetts, and Illinois. I also offer both ongoing weekly therapy and intensive sessions over one or multiple days. If you’re considering starting therapy, I’d be happy to answer your questions and explore how I can support you. Please contact me for virtual appointments from the comfort of your own home in CO, IL, MA, or VT. I am also available to meet in-person at my office in Denver, CO.
