In my practice, I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationship distress. I partner with adult clients with calm, curiosity, and compassion creating a toward healing, greater emotional connection, and deeper sense of well being. My work integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including attachment-based, mindfulness, trauma-informed, and emotionally focused modalities. I have advanced training in IFS, AEDP, and EMDR, and as a Certified EMDR Therapist, I provide specialized treatment focused on reducing emotional pain and supporting meaningful, lasting healing. For couples, I offer Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, (EFCT), a research-supported approach that helps partners strengthen trust, communication, and connection. I help couples recognize their negative cycles that keep them stuck and guide them toward rebuilding security, closeness, and emotional intimacy. My style is calm, compassionate, and interactive. I believe that we all have an innate ability to heal and thrive. I look forward to partnering with clients on their journey toward self awareness and self empowerment. I enjoy helping clients build upon their strengths to gain hope, confidence, and tools to move forward. Seeking counseling is overwhelming, and it takes courage to begin the journey towards healing and connection. Over the last 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse clients in a variety of settings, including addiction treatment, community mental health, crisis intervention, employee assistance, and in private practice since 2008. I am an advocate for social and reproductive justice and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. My office is located near downtown Charlottesville with plenty of parking. I am licensed in Virginia and Maryland.
