Introduction

Welcome, and thank you for being here. Please take this moment to acknowledge the courage it takes to reach out for help, as it is not an easy step for many of us. YOU are the expert of your own life and experiences. As your therapist, I would feel honored if you would help me understand life through your perspective and be willing for me to walk alongside you and bear witness to this part of your journey. I view counseling as a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on authenticity, curiosity, empathy, attunement, humor, and mutuality. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I understand safety and trust can take time to develop as vulnerability and emotional intimacy may feel terrifying at times. Through the use of a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens, I provide individual counseling to adults seeking to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. My role as your therapist is to help you discover what works best for you and meet you where you are at. We will work together to create individualized goals for treatment and identify any other areas of your life causing distress that you wish to explore together. I use several modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Polyvagal-Informed Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Although therapy has many serious moments, I believe there is room for play. Taking time for ourselves and doing what brings us joy, relaxation, and fun is important in the work we will do together. I am passionate about helping individuals understand and re-process past painful experiences and find ways to live more in the present moment. If you think we might be a good fit, please reach out when you are ready. Take good care. ** Please be aware that my office hours are by appointment only through the use of a secure telehealth platform. Thank you.**
