Introduction

I never set out to create a therapy practice that felt like another waiting room. I built BloomWell Therapeutics because I believe growth rarely happens sitting still. Real change happens when we’re willing to get curious, challenge the stories we’ve been carrying, and reconnect with ourselves in a way that actually lasts. I’m an LCSW with a background in community mental health and counseling within the military community. My practice offers both virtual and in-person therapy throughout the Topsail area, including walk-and-talk sessions on trails, beaches, and parks. I also hold certificates in Horticulture Therapy and Nature-Informed Therapy because I believe nature isn’t just a beautiful backdrop—it has been one of our greatest teachers long before therapy offices ever existed. I’m a neuroscience nerd, and I make no apologies for it. I love understanding why our brains do what they do and translating complex science into practical tools you can actually use. Therapy shouldn’t leave you wondering what just happened during your session. I want you to understand your nervous system, recognize your patterns, and know exactly why your mind and body respond the way they do. Knowledge builds confidence, and confidence creates change. Life isn’t about eliminating stress. That’s an impossible goal. The goal is becoming the kind of person who can move through stress without letting it dictate every decision. Resilience isn’t something you’re born with; it’s something you build. Together we’ll strengthen your ability to respond instead of react, recover faster from setbacks, and create habits that support the life you actually want to live. Nature constantly reminds us that growth isn’t linear. Trees bend before they break. Rivers carve through rock by persistence, not force. Wildflowers don’t compete with the forest around them—they simply grow where they’re planted. I use these lessons throughout therapy because sometimes the natural world explains human behavior better than any textbook ever could. I don’t believe there’s one perfect therapeutic approach. People are too complex for that. Every client brings a different history, different strengths, and different goals, so I pull from multiple evidence-based modalities to build an approach that fits you—not the other way around. Therapy should be flexible, collaborative, and rooted in what works. If you’re looking for someone to simply nod while you vent every week, I’m probably not your therapist. If you’re ready to understand yourself on a deeper level, challenge old patterns, develop practical skills, and become more resilient in the face of life’s inevitable challenges, we’ll likely work well together. My goal isn’t to “fix” you, because I don’t believe you’re broken. My goal is to help you better understand how your mind and body work, rewrite the stories that no longer serve you, and build the confidence to face life head-on. The world doesn’t need a smaller version of you. It needs the strongest, most grounded, and most authentic version you have to offer. Please feel free to reach out with your preference of meeting in the community or exclusively telehealth. I have a list of local places that will provide the optimal experience for nature based services within the Topsail area.
