Introduction

Specializing in pediatric OCD and anxiety treatment since 2018, Dr. Alyssa Hoffman works collaboratively with children, teens, and/or their parents to help them get unstuck from anxious, avoidant, obsessive, and compulsive cycles. Dr. Hoffman has received comprehensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), considered the first-line treatment for OCD. Exposure work is often critical for phobias as well. At times, children and teens need a different approach and Dr. Hoffman is also well-versed in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Inference-Based CBT. She is also trained in comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics. Therapy is an individualized process best done in collaboration with the child, family, and clinician. Dr. Hoffman works to integrate her experience and expertise while listening and working to understand your child's unique symptoms and circumstances. Sessions with young children often have full parent involvement, while teens often have more independence. As some parents know all too well, OCD and anxiety don't always travel alone. Dr. Hoffman recognizes the importance of being familiar with and educated on the nuances of OCD and it's common companions to offer well-rounded support and treatment. As such, she dedicates additional time in training, reading and consultation in the following areas: PANS/PANDAS, Autism/ADHD/AuDHD/PDA, Tics/TS, ARFID, Neurodivergence.
