My name is Amy Bell. As a former social worker and educator, I have many years of experience with children and families in crisis. I’ve also worked with adolescents in foster care and those involved in the juvenile justice system. I have a lot of familiarity with trauma and loss, particularly with victims of abuse. I have been a passionate advocate for youth and families working to overcome a variety of obstacles. I choose therapeutic methods based on a client’s particular needs. The foundation of all work that I do is based on establishing trust and connection with my clients and utilizing a strength-based approach. Some theories I rely on include narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and solutions focused brief. I've experienced my own share of adversity and struggled to overcome obstacles. As difficult as those experiences were, they left me with empathy and compassion for others who are facing challenges. It is possible to survive difficult things and become a stronger person as a result. I welcome clients with various needs and age groups but may be best suited to help those with anxiety, depression, trauma/sexual trauma, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, grief and loss, parenting issues, addiction and abuse survivors.
