I graduated from the University of Houston Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program in 2021. I completed my internship training at the James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa Florida, where I specialized in trauma-focused treatments for PTSD. I also gained experience in assessment, women’s health, and inpatient mental health. I then completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida where I developed more specialized training in skills for treatment of PTSD and women’s health issues. After my postdoctoral fellowship, I worked for a few years at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas where I primarily worked in providing quality mental health care for Veterans dealing with a range of mental health issues. I was also involved in the training program and was an assistant professor at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry at the Baylor College of Medicine. I have special interests in therapy for PTSD and women’s issues, as well as research related to mechanisms that improve PTSD treatment, and assessment of complex psychological presentations. I enjoy working with all types of clients and continuing my learning journey beyond my initial graduate school training.
