Introduction

Amanda is a clinical mental health counseling graduate intern at Nova Southeastern University. She brings a rich blend of experience in military service, healthcare, education, and addiction research to the counseling profession. Amanda recognizes that each person’s experiences and way of life are as unique as a fingerprint, and she approaches the therapeutic process with openness and curiosity. Most recently, she provided counseling services to college students from varied backgrounds, including veterans transitioning to civilian and academic life and students receiving need-based educational support. Amanda practices from an existential framework while integrating therapeutic approaches that fit each client’s unique needs. She strives to help clients better understand themselves, navigate uncertainty, and build lives that feel meaningful and purposeful. Outside of counseling, Amanda is a bodybuilding enthusiast and enjoys movies across a multitude of genres. She is slightly above average at cornhole and a retired tetherball dropout. She loves animals and regularly helps her local animal shelter by showcasing adoptable dogs.
