I have been working within this area of interest professionally since 2010, with personal experiences of having a blended family since 2005. Treatment often includes both individual and family counseling with a focus on grief following a divorce, strengthening and healing biological family relationships, and understanding and encouraging the process of blending that often takes place through remarriage and other life transitions, such as new siblings, moving, etc. Blended families can be created in other ways as well, including foster care, adoption, grandparents raising grandchildren and many more. I offer various techniques and strategies through the therapeutic process such as psychotherapy, psychoeducation, art therapy, and play techniques to help clients and their families feel heard, supported, and encouraged. I received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Northeastern State University. I worked as an elementary school counselor for 5 years and provided individual and group counseling, as well as, classroom and school-wide guidance for social, emotional, and behavioral issues. Since that time, I received my professional licensure and have been providing professional counseling services, in agency, private practice, and inpatient hospital settings. I am a current member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and provide court-appointed reconciliation therapy, as well as, therapeutic visitation. Faith-based counseling is also available upon request. I look forward to working with you and your family!
