Amanda Meyer, LMSW Licensed Masters Social Worker Life is full of challenges and having someone on your side to listen and help process these challenges can make life feel more manageable. Amanda believes in meeting people where they are and creating a compassionate and empathetic space to work through life’s changes and challenges. Utilizing a variety of approaches to fit each client’s needs, including CBT, Solutions focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and various other techniques, Amanda helps each client recognize they are the expert on their personal experiences and life story and works with each client to create a personal approach to identify and meet their goals. Amanda has experience working with teens and adults in crisis, including those experiencing suicidal thoughts, creating safety plans, processing grief, anxiety, depression, new medical diagnoses, end of life care and self esteem struggles. Amanda uses a client led approach and believes in utilizing mindfulness, teaching coping skills and occasionally assigns tasks to complete outside of sessions to continue building on these skills for the best possible outcome for her clients. Amanda attended Wichita State University for her Bachelors as well as Masters in Social Work. Outside of providing therapy services, Amanda can be found spending time with her son, poodles and cats at home and enjoys reading for fun, as well as reading to continue building knowledge of evidence-based practices to enhance skills to work best with clients.
