I’m Amelia Lopez, a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate experiences related to trauma, intimacy, and identity and relational challenges. I specialize in supporting clients navigating trauma, relationship distress, sexual identity exploration within both couples and individuals, anxiety, and depression. I also provide gender-affirming care and offer letters of support for trans and nonbinary clients pursuing medical transition. My goal is to hold space for clients who feel lost, stuck, or unseen. I approach therapy from an experiential and emotion-focused lens, grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-based principles. I believe meaningful change happens when we can safely connect with our emotions, share our stories, and explore the parts of ourselves we've had to protect or hide. My work is collaborative, client-led, and attuned to both the emotional and systemic layers of your experience. Clients often describe me as open, calm, and nonjudgmental. In our work together, you can expect a warm and supportive space where all parts of you are welcome. I will work alongside you as we slow down, process your experiences, and move toward healing and a deeper connection to your authentic self. As a clinician committed to equity and cultural humility, I recognize the importance of honoring the cultural, spiritual, and relational contexts that shape each client’s story. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, and grounded in respect for the resilience and complexity of every person I work with. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in listening to music, connecting with loved ones, and spending time with my cat. I’m deeply inspired by people’s capacity for growth and connection which can be seen in the work I do.
