Introduction

Dr. Amira Nahshal is a Licensed Psychologist and the founder of Sakina Psychological Services, PLLC. With a robust clinical background, she specializes in conducting comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and immigration evaluations. In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Nahshal provides compassionate, evidence-based individual psychotherapy for children and adolescents. Dr. Nahshal earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology and an M.S.Ed. in the Psychology of Bilingual Students from Fordham University. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and holds licensure in both New York and Michigan. Her clinical expertise is further informed by extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Traditionally Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy (TIIP). Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Nahshal gained significant experience working with diverse populations in schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Fluent in both English and Arabic, she is dedicated to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care that empowers her clients to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and support. To further expand her clinical expertise, Dr. Nahshal is currently pursuing a School Neuropsychology Diplomate from the School Neuropsychology Institute (SNI).
