You may look like you're handling everything while privately struggling with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, self-doubt, or the effects of experiences that continue to affect you. Maybe you overthink everything, have difficulty following through, keep repeating the same relationship patterns, or understand exactly why you do what you do but still can't seem to change it. Insight can be an important beginning, but insight alone isn't always enough. I believe good therapy starts with a relationship where you can genuinely be yourself. I'm warm, conversational, accepting, and very much a real person in the therapy room. I'll listen carefully, ask questions, laugh with you, support you, and also help you look more closely when I notice something that may be important. My clients often come to therapy wanting more than someone who simply listens. They want to understand what keeps them stuck and learn how to create meaningful change. I'm interested not only in what is happening, but in what's happening underneath it. Together, we may explore how earlier experiences, beliefs about yourself, emotional responses, relationships, avoidance, coping strategies, or patterns that once protected you may be affecting your life now. I don't assume that what I notice is automatically the answer. We'll get curious about it together and determine what fits. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, stress and overwhelm, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, perfectionism, people-pleasing, boundary difficulties, and self-esteem concerns. My approach is individualized and integrative, drawing from EMDR, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches, DBT-informed skills, and other evidence-based strategies based on what you need. Clients can expect therapy to include both deeper understanding and practical change. That may mean processing painful experiences, responding differently to anxiety or depression, changing longstanding patterns, improving follow-through, setting boundaries without being consumed by guilt, strengthening relationships, trusting yourself more, or learning to handle difficult emotions differently. My goal is not simply for you to understand yourself better. It's for the work we do together to make a meaningful difference in how you experience your life.
