Working with me feels like working with someone who truly gets it. I will move at your pace and focus on helping you feel safe enough to share your story, even if you don't have the words yet. Clients often tell me that I help them feel comfortable quickly, like they can finally exhale. There is room for honesty, emotion and even a little humor when it fits. I became a therapist 30 years ago, because therapy change my own life. I know how powerful it is to finally feel seen and understood. I bring both professional training and lived experience to this work. I am a mother of 3, an adoptee, and someone who has navigated profound loss and major life transitions. These experiences shape how I will show up for you. I have a great deal of expertise and experience working with clients as they navigate grief and loss, trauma, life transitions and eating disorders. You may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, confused by your emotions, and misunderstood. Many people who reach out to me are exhausted from holding it all together and quietly questioning why things feel so hard. What I want you to know first is that nothing is wrong with you. I view most of emotional pain through the lens of grief and loss. Grief isn't only about death. It can come from divorce, health challenges, caregiving, adoption, trauma, or the loss of the life that you were expecting to have. It can come from retirement, empty nest, menopause, changing jobs and the list goes on. When these experiences aren't recognized for what they are, we often feel misunderstood or ashamed. I would consider it a privilege to work with you. Please reach out to me and we can schedule a free 20 minute phone call to see if we are a good fit for each other.
