I am a master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Utah. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at University of Utah prior and am anticipating graduating with my Positive Psychology Certificate. I have over eight years of experience working in the field of addiction recovery and currently treat anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, relationship difficulties, substance use, codependency, self-esteem, and trauma (CPTSD & PTSD). I am neurodivergent-informed and offer LGBTQIA+ affirming care. I believe that life is full of challenges, and that as human beings we are constantly navigating relationships, suffering, and change. Hardship is a part of life—it is how we cope with it and subsequently heal from it that matters. I use a trauma and attachment lens to help individuals feel safe again in their own bodies and then to establish and cultivate safety in their relationships. I incorporate tools from EMDR, DBT, EFT, ACT, Psychodynamics, and mindfulness to assist clients in first feeling their emotions, coping with them, and then learning from them. All emotions are part of the human experience—the more we can accept and listen to the unpleasant ones, the easier life becomes. When we can look into the eye of the storm and know that we are strong enough to weather it; life, with its multitude of obstacles, becomes a journey of many paths rather than a destination of just one.
