Introduction

Hello and welcome! I specialize in Transformational EMDR™ (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) relational therapy with couples and individuals to support deep trauma processing and integration, individuation and growth, secure relationships, and living authentically. I was trained by Dr. Andrew Dobo in this powerful modality. My areas of expertise include relationship dynamics, establishing secure attachment, intimacy, life transitions, identity, spirituality, and complex trauma. I am committed to co-creating a sacred space where you will feel safe, seen, and supported as you move through this chapter in life and onto the next with clarity and confidence. I offer in-person EMDR and couples therapy in a beautiful and secure office in downtown Tacoma, Washington, with reception and a spacious waiting area, right near the courthouse and the Tacoma Public Library main branch. Virtual EMDR sessions are also available and just as effective. I practice with the knowing that we all have the innate ability to heal, and that as relational beings, we heal exponentially with support, guidance, and being witnessed in this process. This type of journey often brings things up from the shadows to transform through awareness, compassion, and aligned actions. With surrender to the process, healing and transformation occur at the speed of thought as the past returns to the past so that one may live with clarity and freedom in the present. Your life will change as we activate your self-healing process, and I will guide and support you through the changes as you realign with your authentic path. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to target fragmented implicit memories that have not been fully processed and the negative thoughts that we learned that can begin to control our lives, such as "I'm not safe" or "I'm not good enough". The process brings thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations to the surface of awareness and within our bodies in a contained way, so they can be felt for the last time at that level of intensity and properly filed away, leaving us with clarity and reclaimed mental space and energy. This is a psychoanalytic, somatic, cognitive, and emotional full-body therapy described as "shadow work on steroids". I am a systemically trained therapist, which means I see and acknowledge the context of familial, cultural, societal, and historical systems that uniquely impact our varied experiences of the world. I utilize a range of evidence-based interventions tailored to each case and support mind-body-soul healing by integrating sound therapy, ancestral work, and somatic exercises as they fit. You will receive a highly personalized experience that rebuilds your relationships with yourself, others, and your communities on a secure foundation. As a biracial Korean-American who has studied diverse subjects in diverse places, I have a breadth of experiential knowledge that enriches therapy and my ability to sit with you wherever you may be on your path. I have done deep work in my own journey through connecting with ancestral practices, dedicating myself to intergenerational healing personally and collectively, EMDR therapy with a Jungian analyst IFS therapist, obtaining two masters degrees, shadow integration and embodiment through dance and the aerial arts, sound healing and space holding certification, reiki certification, EMDR training, and through being a mother- a sacred role. I am an avid journaler and maintain daily routines and connections with community support systems. As Carl Jung once said, "Only the wounded physician heals... and then only to the extent he has healed himself.” I enjoy connecting through consults, and I am happy to offer referrals if needed. I am connected with many compassionate colleagues with diverse specialties. I love working with those on their individuation path, couples, BIPOC individuals, and those embracing decolonization and spiritual reclamation journeys. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Consultations are easy to schedule through my website and email. Thank you!
