Introduction

Your story matters. Your story, your pain, and your collection of struggles is unique to you. There is no one-size fits all approach to therapy. My job as a therapist is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space that promotes growth, change, and insight into these problems. EE Cummings once said, “Almost anybody can learn to think or believe or know, but not a single human being can be taught to feel. Why? Because whenever you think or believe or you know, you’re a lot of other people. But the moment you feel you’re nobody but yourself. To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” Living unapologetically and wholeheartedly takes significant courage and vulnerability, but we must do this in order to feel and be true to ourselves. Learning to do this can set us “free” and feel empowered, but takes practice. Practice that I help support, cultivate, and validate in sessions. I focus on the connection between myself and my clients, so that you feel seen, heard, and valued. I approach my work with clients in a holistic manner, paying attention to the mind, body, and soul. I believe these elements are strongly connected to one another and all need to be addressed by recognizing the connection between them and how to create a healthy balance in all areas of one's life. Being certified in various approaches has helped me diversify my knowledge and use of techniques used to support my clients. I love to learn and continue to commit myself to gaining more knowledge about the field of counseling and effective counseling practices to better improve my practice and assist my clients.
