Amy is a resident therapist in Marriage and Family Therapy and specializes in Couples Therapy. She enjoys working with couples who want support to strengthen emotional security, communication, express needs, repair emotional distance, cultivate secure attachment, and learn new strategies to resolve conflict. Couples who come to therapy often seek help to navigate work-life balance, difficult family dynamics, life transitions, shared responsibilities, grief and loss, and intimacy concerns. Amy creates a safe and neutral space for clients to feel seen, feel heard, and to foster deeper connections about themselves, their partner, and the relationship. Depending on the couples’ needs, she integrates trauma-informed therapy models, evidence-based strategies, as well as mindfulness techniques to support skill-building, insight into past experiences, healthier patterns, and stronger emotional bonds. Amy has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and also works with clients through complex trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and socio-cultural stressors. Amy is an inclusive provider who strives to provide an affirming therapy space for people of all identities. With compassion and clinical insight, Amy helps clients become more self-aware and proactive in facing life’s challenges. Having experienced therapy herself, she understands the journey of personal growth isn’t always linear, and requires intentional change over time for real life success. She is here to provide genuine support every step of the way. Amy practices under the supervision of Ellie Cunanan-Petty, LMFT.
