Introduction

Welcome It can be hard to find the right therapist for your specific needs. Are you struggling in your marriage, with your partner, with dating or in the pre-marital stage? Or perhaps you are an adult dealing with anxiety, stress, work, overcoming habits or with OCD? Maybe you are like many of my clients and struggle with sleep or insomnia. If so, I would love to help! About Me I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Born to Greek immigrants, I have a deep appreciation for your cultural experiences and can relate to and understand that different cultural norms exist. I'm a mother and have been married over 25 years and this feeds my above interests. In the past I worked in the Silicon Valley tech industry as well as a local large private university, so I am also familiar with those environments. I am deeply interested in the best research and science has to offer so you can benefit. If you are interested in Couples Therapy I specialize in working with couples using research based couples therapies. Most of the time, I prioritize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples as it has the best outcome studies research behind it. With EFT, I help you see how you are getting stuck in problematic patterns that keep you disconnected. Together we explore the underlying issues and blocks. Clients can expect me to help choreograph a different kind of interaction that move you to feel more emotionally safe and secure with your partner. I also pull on other evidenced based couples therapy methods like The Gottman Method and TEAM CBT as I see is relevant, adjusting to what I see in sessions by the couple and their unique needs. I start by meeting with you both for a free 15 minute consult. I then have a 3 session intake process which consists of: 1. Session with both of you 2. Individual session with each of you After that, we start the work of couples therapy. I recommend 80 minute sessions as it allows for the appropriate amount of time needed to process well. In establishing therapy in the beginning, consistency and momentum are important so ideally meeting weekly at first. If you are interested in Individual Adult Therapy I specialize in working with adult individuals. As with the other therapists at Feeling Good Institute (FGI), I am trained in TEAM CBT which is the therapeutic framework that our office specializes in. FGI therapists practice many types of therapy but the thing we all have in common is we are all trained and certified in a framework for conducting therapy that includes the processes known to be most effective. Developed and refined by David Burns, Psychiatrist/MD for over 50 years, this structure is solution focused and goal oriented. It involves your motivation and participation in self help assignments and collaboration with me to achieve your best results. If you are willing to metaphorically "roll up your sleeves" with me, we will move through a TEAM CBT structure and process which includes empathy, collecting data, motivation processing, and then leads to learning methods that you will take with you for the rest of your life. Ideally you take the tools you learn into your own life and become your own therapist. I try and work myself out of a job so you can live your best life. The goal is for this to be shorter term therapy however as you can imagine, this may vary from person to person. Experience and Training Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) for Couples The Gottman Method for Couples, Certified Level 1 TEAM CBT Level 4 Advanced Certified Therapist and Trainer/Consultant CBT-i for Insomnia Certified Therapist Experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatics.
