Introduction

Hello, and welcome to Northern Lights Psychiatry Services. My name is Angela Peters, APRN, PMHNP, and I am the founder and lead provider of this practice. My journey into mental health and recovery work is both professional and deeply personal. After many years working as a registered nurse in diverse clinical settings, I felt called to pursue advanced training in psychiatric care so I could support individuals and families facing the challenges of mental illness and substance use. My work is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practice, and genuine understanding. I specialize in treating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, and substance-use disorders, with a particular focus on helping those navigating recovery, relapse prevention, and the emotional complexities that accompany these experiences. I also have lived insight into what it means to rebuild a life, regain stability, and rediscover hope—which fuels my commitment to helping others do the same. Northern Lights Psychiatry was created to offer clients a safe, judgment-free environment where healing is possible. My goal is to provide meaningful, individualized care that not only addresses symptoms but strengthens resilience, enhances daily functioning, and supports long-term wellness. Whether you’re seeking medication management, support in recovery, guidance through a difficult chapter, or simply a place to feel heard, I’m here to walk alongside you. Thank you for considering Northern Lights Psychiatry Services. I’m honored to support you on your path forward.
