Hi, I’m Angela Viles-Shop, LMSW, and I’m glad you’re here. I became a therapist out of a deep desire to walk alongside individuals and families navigating life’s hardest seasons. Over time, my work has grown into a strong focus on trauma-informed care, with a special heart for supporting military members and their families who are often carrying unique stressors, transitions, and unseen burdens. I work with adults, couples, and children, and I have specialized experience in: Trauma and PTSD Military family stress, deployment transitions, and reintegration Anxiety, perfectionism, and emotional overwhelm Grief and loss Relationship and marital concerns, including communication and trust I understand that military life can place strain on individuals and relationships in ways others may not fully see—frequent moves, time apart, high expectations, and the weight of service. My goal is to provide a space where you don’t have to explain everything just to be understood. My approach blends evidence-based and relational therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, and play therapy (with children). I prioritize creating a safe, structured, and collaborative environment where healing happens at your pace. For those who desire it, I also offer faith-sensitive care that honors your beliefs without adding pressure or shame. In our work together, we will focus not only on reducing symptoms, but on helping you build clarity, resilience, and stronger connections in your life and relationships. You don’t have to carry this alone.
