Are you struggling because your physical or emotional pain has been minimized or dismissed? Here, you will be listened to, your experiences honored and validated, and your pain believed. Pain can relegate us to the margins of our own stories and can keep us from our hoped for lives and relationships. I work with individuals and couples around many themes and experiences, including chronic illness and pain, sex and pleasure, intimacy and communication, gender and queerness, grief and loss, anxiety and hypervigilance, living a creative life, the pressure of norms and shoulds, and living in uncertain times and oppressive systems. Our bodies act like records of the trauma, stress, and pain we’ve faced. I support clients in finding more safety and presence in their bodies, at their pace, while inviting the stories their bodies hold to be told. Alongside stories of pain, we hear moments of resistance, when the sparks of pleasure, empowerment, and liberation are felt. Together we explore what you can make possible, when pain isn’t running the show! I take a non-pathologizing, liberatory, feminist approach to therapy. I offer somatic or body-based practices, mindfulness guidance, and EMDR, alongside more conversational talk therapy. And I specialize in working with experiences of chronic pelvic and vulvovaginal pain. I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 137749) supervised and employed by Lynne Rosen, LCSW.
