Book a free consultation to talk more or read on to know more specifically about my approach and specialty areas. I have worked in the mental health field for over 7 years, both in inpatient and outpatient settings, with adults, couples and children. These years of work have allowed me to curate and specialize my approach to specific populations. Individuals: I am at heart a generalist in my field. I am very passionate about working with a diverse array of clients and enjoy continually challenging my perspective, which aids my growth as a clinician. In individual sessions we work collaboratively to create a treatment approach that best fits your needs, circumstances or symptoms you are experiencing. This is guided by your goals and aided by my expertise. Women: I specialize in working with women navigating the perinatal and postnatal periods and the complexity that comes along with the many new changes and challenges during this time. In these sessions you are provided support, curious reflection and healthy tools to cope with the unpredictable nature of this season. Couples: I work with couples navigating transitions, conflicts and co-parenting. In these sessions, couples will learn their communication patterns. We will explore contributing factors to dysfunction with compassion and empathy together as a team. Parents/Children: My approach to developmental or mental health concerns with children is to work with parents individually. I offer parent coaching sessions to address these concerns and provide helpful tools for parents to navigate developmental changes and challenges with greater support and understanding. To be a witness to the experiences and stories that I come across is a wonderful privilege that is transformative and challenging. I make it priority to actively build strong therapeutic rapport and relationships with each of my clients that creates safety and familiarity. My approach is active, allowing space for reflective listening and thought provoking questions. I am attuned to my clients, allowing them to take up all the space they need within each session. My style is warm, direct and curious. I welcome feedback and strive to create a collaborative, safe, exploratory space for the inner work to unfold naturally. ____________________________________________________________________ When I am not seeing clients and able to escape the chaos that is often my life with three young children, being in nature and trail walking is grounding for me. I enjoy solitude and you can often find me on long walks with my overeager Labrador, Sonny. I am fond of napping, laughing, reading, dancing, taking care of my plants and baking with my kids in my spare time. I'll leave you with a quote from a man whose writing inspired me to do this work. “To be sure, man's search for meaning may arouse inner tension rather than inner equilibrium. However, precisely such tension is an indispensable prerequisite of mental health. There is nothing in the world, I venture to say, that would so effectively help one to survive even the worst conditions as the knowledge that there is a meaning in one's life. There is much wisdom in the words of Nietzsche: "He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how” -Victor E. Frankl, Man's Search For Meaning-
