Do you feel like there's a lot you intellectually know or understand, but you struggle to feel it, or live those truths in an embodied sense? Or maybe there are different parts of you that hold conflicting beliefs and mindsets, making the change process confusing and frustrating. We can know so much, and do so much healing on a cognitive and intellectual level, and yet struggle to shift the feeling states our nervous systems live in. I see therapy as a profound holding space that we enter into in order to deconstruct harmful patterning and programming that we have absorbed from our past experiences and environments, so that we can grow into and fully embody our integrated selves. We are not meant to do this intensive work alone; humans are communal, and it is through relationship that we understand and heal. I am committed to accompanying those on this path, and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to witness the strength, wisdom and courage of therapy participants. I received my MSW from Columbia University, and have a background in community mental health, residential treatment, and now outpatient mental health. My practice is strongly oriented around social justice and empowerment. I am especially committed to trauma survivorship. Prior to working as a therapist, I worked in research and teaching. I enjoy bringing tools of EMDR, psychophysiology and mindfulness into therapy work. I love nature, live music, art and literature, and a good cup of tea. I live in a wild landscape in the mountains with my sweet and rambunctious little dog, and my magical child.
