Introduction

My name is April Youngblood, and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor with Innerlight Counseling. I have 2 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor approved by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. My areas of expertise include mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I take a Person-Centered approach to treatment, and enjoy providing a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My treatment experiences have included children, adolescents, and adults. I have a collaborative approach to therapy, striving to give clients a sense of autonomy in their own treatment. I believe in therapeutic environments that provide the client with a sense of safety, while we work together toward healing, and work with the client toward the goal of believing in their own voice.
