Introduction

Ariana Anderson, LCSW is a clinical therapist with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver. She specializes in trauma-informed therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapies, and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). She is dedicated to providing recovery for those impacted by unexplained phenomena and anomalous contact. Ariana aims to develop a therapeutic alliance that creates a safe environment in which individuals can share and bring forth that in which may be the most sensitive, troubling, confusing, and extraordinary experiences imaginable. New Awakenings* provides licensed mental health services focused on emotional well-being, trauma recovery, and psychological integration. Therapy does not seek to determine the objective nature or origin of clients’ experiences. Treatment focuses on how experiences are perceived, interpreted, and emotionally processed; and how they impact daily functioning, relationships, and quality of life. ____________ Ariana was born and raised in Denver, CO. She achieved her B.A. in psychology, along with a minor in Leadership Studies, at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She then attended University of Denver where she earned her Master in Social Work and certificate in animal-assisted social work. Ariana is dedicated to advocating for social change and empowering individuals impacted by oppression. It has been a privilege having the opportunity thus far to accompany individuals on their recovery journey as they further their potential, develop coping skills to manage mental health challenges, and ultimately work towards creating their life worth living, as it is defined by them. There is a population of people that continues to remain underserved - individuals affected by the UFO phenomenon. Such individuals often describe abduction-related scenarios involving physical experimentation and waking up with unusual marks and sores, in addition to other symptoms such as sleep paralysis, missing time, and feelings of intense fear. Ariana believes that there is truth and validity in these experiences. Unfortunately, fear of humiliation, being deemed as “crazy”, and of not being believed seem to be barriers to experiencers reaching out and attaining the support they need. It is Ariana’s aim to approach this topic ethically and therapeutically so that such individuals can learn to cope and improve quality of life.
