Hi, my name is Ariana Rivera. I am a bilingual (English/Español) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #145875) who specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and family systems who are experiencing life stressors, the aftermath of trauma, symptoms of depression or anxiety, or early childhood (0-5 years of age) social/emotional/behavioral concerns. I have extensive experience in the treatment of trauma including domestic violence, sexual abuse, and PTSD. I am currently training in Theraplay Level One and in the UCSD Play Therapy training program. In addition, I have experience working with a range of intellectual and developmental diagnoses across all ages and stages. I take a strengths-based approach and work to create a safe and collaborative space for clients to share their range of feelings and thoughts while they work to reconnect to themselves and others. I believe relationships can be a source of healing and strive to create a relationship with my clients where they feel safe, valued, and empowered. I specialize in evidence-informed approaches to treatment including interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, developmental psychology, play therapy, and contemporary psychodynamic principles. I ground and orient my work in attachment theory recognizing how relationships with others shape our emotional and social development. I feel deeply honored to support my clients in their journey toward growth and fulfillment, and I would be thrilled to connect with you and offer support where needed.
