Introduction

Welcome to Rose from the Concrete Counseling Hi, I’m Ariel Johnson, LCSW, and I’m the founder of Rose from the Concrete Counseling. I grew up in a rural, under-resourced community and was raised in poverty. While I don’t discuss my personal experiences in session, these early challenges shaped my passion for supporting others and guided the focus of my education and professional experience. At Rose from the Concrete Counseling, we believe that even in the hardest circumstances, growth, healing, and resilience are possible. Just as a rose can bloom from the cracks of concrete, people can rise above life’s challenges and find strength, hope, and purpose. Our mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered counseling that emphasizes your strengths and empowers you to navigate life’s difficulties—whether it’s trauma, anxiety, depression, or other challenges that feel overwhelming. We use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you make meaningful changes in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and understanding the thoughts and beliefs that affect how you feel and act. By recognizing patterns that may be unhelpful or harmful, we work together to develop new ways of thinking and responding that reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and coping with life’s challenges without judgment. DBT is especially helpful if you struggle with overwhelming feelings or find it difficult to set boundaries and communicate effectively. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, meaning I focus on your unique abilities, resilience, and resources to help you overcome obstacles. Every person’s journey is different, so we tailor counseling to meet your individual needs, providing a safe, supportive space where you can explore your feelings, develop new coping skills, and build a life that feels meaningful and manageable. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you are dealing with past trauma, current stress, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to help you bloom where you are planted.
