Ashley Elmquist works with clients looking to find healing by stopping cycles of toxic stress related to trauma or core issues developed in childhood. Growth from this type of work fosters healthy relationships, effective parenting, and a wholehearted approach to living. When children or teens feel out of control or parents feel overwhelmed, working through issues that require learning how to emotionally regulate (i.e. trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, ADD, or OCD) can lead to healing that improves one’s ability to securely connect in relationships. Ashley is trained in brainspotting, developmental and relational trauma therapy, and somatic embodiment & regulation strategies and incorporates an eclectic combination of attachment theory, CBT, DBT, play, and artistic expression. This model of counseling helps clients heal from issues that chronically disrupt relationships and wholeheartedly living. Trauma, which might be described as any disruption in typical development, creates survival responses that can prevent us from finding safety in connections. By developing a great foundation of healthy coping and regulation skills, moving through trauma to healing becomes that much more possible.
