If you've been struggling with insomnia, you know how exhausting and frustrating it can be. Insomnia can affect every aspect of life, including your mood, relationships, work, and overall well-being. I have expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the first-line, evidence-based psychological treatment for chronic insomnia. I currently provide telehealth CBT-I to adults located throughout New York State. I strive to help clients develop healthier sleep patterns using evidence-based strategies that produce lasting improvements in both sleep and quality of life. I am a New York-licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy. My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy to help clients develop practical skills while fostering lasting change. In addition to insomnia, I have experience treating anxiety and depressive disorders, perfectionism, self-criticism, emotion regulation difficulties, and obsessive-compulsive-related concerns such as trichotillomania and skin picking, as well as providing cognitive assessments. My clinical work is complemented by an active research career focused on sleep, neurobehavior, and health. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University, followed by postdoctoral training in Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and the University of Southern California. I later received a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH/NIEHS) to study childhood environmental exposures, sleep, and neurobehavior. I continue to conduct research on sleep and neurobehavior as a professor.
